History of the school
Established in 1960, Highlands College is a reputed school along the high-level road in Nugegoda. Highlands has always been home to a unique history serving with honor and esteem in the field of education in Sri Lanka.
As a seems of looking into the future of education, Highlands College was acquired by the experienced management of Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda in 2005. The management decided to shift Highlands College, to a specious venue in Maharagama during the year 2012 to progress efficiently towards the revival of this established school.
Highlands College is a private co-educational institute approved by the Ministry of Education, which caters to both Sinhala and English Medium curriculars with an additional focus on extra-curricular activities to facilitate our students to face the challenges of the world both inside and outside the classroom.
As a result, there has been a remarkable improvement in the examination results of Grade 5 Scholarship, Ordinary Level, and Advanced Level over the past few years, mainly due to the quality of product produced by our teachers.
We focus on driving our students to build interpersonal skills, foster practical knowledge, think independently, think outside the box, be creative, innovate for tomorrow, bring mediums of healthy competition to their daily activities, learn to work as a team, and help the peers around them to foster a community of leaders and not followers for the betterment and growth of our island nation.
